Our Story

MUB started in March of 2022 by the founding team Justin Han, Jason Tang, Joel Leifer, Mohammed Mahdi, Sophia Tan, and additionally Lenin O. de la Cruz in May 2022.

After a year of rigorous planning and hard work, the club finally ran its first classes in semester 1 of 2023. To this day, the club still faces many adversities but overcomes it with the help of our dedicated committee.

Built from nothing, we created more than a club—we built a community, lifelong bonds, and a system designed to last. – Justin

Documentary

MUB’s first documentary “Never Idle: The Story of Melbourne University Boxing” was made in 2025 and uploaded on YouTube in Feb 2026. Directed by former Vice President Jason Tang, the documentary brings together most of the founders and current committee members to showcase the club’s growth, culture, and impact to the wider university and boxing communities.
